The Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives is an independent, non-partisan research institute concerned with issues of social, economic and environmental justice. Founded in 1980, the CCPA is one of Canada's leading progressive voices in public policy debates.

Mission: To promote research on economic and social issues facing Canada; to monitor current developments in economy and study important trends that affect Canadians; to demonstrate thoughtful alternatives to the limited perspectives of business, research institutes and government agencies; [and] to put forward research that reflects concerns of women and men, labour and business, churches, cooperatives and voluntary agencies, governments, minorities, disadvantaged and fortunate individuals.
